Storefront Improvements And Handover
Separate plugin tools, website design, and store business settings.
Español · English edition
Audience: store owners, administrators, and people planning a website improvement.
UnionWP Commerce supports store operations. Empower Union also provides separately scoped storefront design and migration services. Installing the plugin alone does not replace a theme, redesign checkout, or migrate an existing store.
What A Storefront Project Can Cover
- Clear navigation and search, product browsing, and mobile filters.
- Product layouts, size selection, and stock visibility.
- Cart, checkout, and customer account layouts.
- Contact and policy pages, privacy controls, and ongoing care.
Agree on the exact pages, integrations, content, and support before work begins. Keep existing orders, customers, inventory, prices, shipping, taxes, payment configuration, and history in the preservation plan. Replacing a storefront should not overwrite current store activity with old test data.
Business Decisions Stay With The Store
Provide reliable product weights and dimensions, normal packing information, approved carrier/service choices, and accounting instructions for tax configuration. Carrier accounts, payment gateways, licenses, and hosting can have separate fees. A visual launch does not establish that every shipping or tax rule is correct.
Use Shipping discrepancy review to investigate differences before approving a correction. Commerce’s CSV report supports accounting review; it does not calculate the store’s legal obligations.
Before Handover
- Confirm a recoverable backup and a scoped recovery procedure that preserves new store activity.
- Check public browsing, mobile navigation and filters, size selection, cart, checkout, and account layouts.
- Confirm which payment, email, carrier, and customer-account paths were tested and which still need an agreed test.
- Identify who handles requests, reporting, customer questions, and approval of business-setting changes.
- Record the installed versions, agreed settings, known issues, and ongoing support scope.
Do not create an order, take payment, send a notification, or buy a shipping label merely to complete a visual review. Any live transaction test needs explicit scope and an agreed procedure.
