First-day checklist

Sign in, find your assigned tools and complete a useful first task.

Audience: new staff and administrators. Before you start: have your union’s official website address, your own account if required, and the name of your website contact.

1. Confirm where you are working

Open the address supplied by your union. Check the hostname before entering account details. Confirm whether this is the live website or a review environment; review sites can deliberately block external notifications.

Use the union’s approved sign-in link if your task requires access. There is no single staff-login address shared by every union. Follow any additional sign-in steps shown on your site.

2. Find the task assigned to you

  1. Open the staff tool or administration area provided during handover.
  2. Check the page title and the union name.
  3. Confirm that you can see the tool you need.
  4. If access is denied, follow Sign-in and access. Ask the administrator to check your assigned permissions.

Staff request forms and Pro settings use different access. A missing Pro menu does not necessarily mean the product is broken.

3. Complete a first sharing task

If you have a supported public profile, follow Share a profile: open it, download its QR code and scan the file with a phone.

If you are an administrator, use Create a QR code for an existing public page. Compare Encoded content with the intended address, then scan the download. You should reach the correct published page without making a form submission.

If you do not have either tool, open the workflow guide for your assigned request and gather the information it needs before submitting.

4. Learn your union’s review process

Confirm who approves public changes, who reviews requests and which contact route to use for corrections. Check names, dates, links and attachment permissions before submitting content. A submitted request is not automatically a published article, approved membership or confirmed booking.

Administrators should also review the Pro dashboard tour and setup handover checklist.

5. Finish with a clear result

Record the task you completed and any visible problem. For requests, retain the confirmation or reference supplied by the site. For QR artwork, keep the original download and working destination address. Sign out when using a shared device.

Keep passwords and private application records out of public pages and screenshots. Use Contact support when you need help explaining an issue.
