Staff WorkflowsMembership applications

Use the membership application workflow

Submit an application or review a record through your union’s configured process.

Audience: applicants and authorized union staff. Availability: configured-site workflow. Fields, required documents, confirmation messages and review steps depend on your union. UnionWP Pro does not install an identical application system on every site.

For applicants: before you start

Open the application page from your union’s official website. Read its eligibility information, required fields and document instructions. Gather the information requested by that form. Contact the union office if a question about eligibility or a required document is unclear.

Complete and submit

  1. Open the official application form and read the current instructions.
  2. Enter the required information accurately. Follow the field-specific format and upload requirements displayed by that site.
  3. Review names, contact details, dates and attachments before submitting.
  4. Select the form’s submission control once and wait for its result.
  5. If validation messages appear, correct the indicated fields and follow the form’s instructions.
  6. Retain any confirmation or reference the website supplies.
  7. Follow the union office’s instructions for additional documents or next steps.

A confirmation describes acceptance at that step of the website workflow. It is not a membership approval decision. Contact your union office about eligibility, review status or corrections.

If you are unsure it submitted

Record the approximate time and visible message. Ask the union office to check for an existing record before submitting another copy. Avoid sending full application contents through a general support message.

If the page is unavailable, use the contact route on the official union website. The product-support contact cannot make membership decisions for the union.

For authorized staff: review the record

  1. Open the application through the private workflow assigned by your union.
  2. Confirm its submission time and identify the correct record.
  3. Review required information and any generated document using the existing application system.
  4. Follow the union’s eligibility, review and follow-up procedure.
  5. Record corrections or contact the applicant through the approved process.
  6. If a document or expected notification is missing, investigate that step independently. Check the application record before assuming it was lost.
  7. For missing email, use Check email delivery or ask the mail administrator to review the evidence.

Protection and feature boundaries

The designated membership form is excluded from Pro’s optional-form switches and automatic staff submission alerts. Its separate publication, access and email safeguards still apply. Keep those safeguards in place.

An application does not enroll someone in planned SMS topics. Member messaging remains unavailable. Store application records and documents in approved private channels and share only the minimum necessary support evidence.
